I think that most times if someone claims a belief and the action effected by that belief is absent then that person probably has conflicting presuppositions or is placating their own feelings as opposed to what they know to be true.

True to a point. I think some people hold certain theological beliefs, but fail to see how those beliefs should affect how they act - that or the beliefs aren't significant enough to the person to act on those beliefs.

Someone can say, "I believe we're all created equal," but then proceed to treat the poor or those of a different color in a disparaging manner (like the Founding Fathers) - showing some inconsistency or lack of understanding of what their theology actually means in application.

I personally go as far as saying that "everybody has his own individual theological system and that every theology (every thought for that matter) has a direct correlation to every action that each one takes, thus I believe, genuine theology begets genuine action - good theology begets true good works." Every theology is "applied" one way or the other, a person's actions reveals his theological concepts.

Come to think about it, whenever Jesus reveals Theological truth, he follows it up immediately with a corresponding action point. For example he says the profound theological truth, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me" and then he says "therefore go and make disciples of all nations".

It is indeed true, that "by their fruits, you will know that they are my disciples."

looking forward to the posts.
